Valve, and Gabe Newell in particular have always been behind the support of open platforms such as the Linux operating system. Gabe Newell went as far as calling the new Windows operating system, Windows 8, a ‘catastrophe.’
Valve recently launched a one week sale, through Steam, for Linux gamers. However the sale isn’t just for Linux gamers – Gabe Newell wants people to make the switch to a Linux operating system. It’s not a costly one since Ubunutu, a Linux operating system, is free to download.

To see what’s on sale – check the Steam website or simply open Steam if you already have it installed. Despite Newell’s support for the Linux platform it’s disappointing to see little on sale, quality and quantity wise.
